Some of you will have already seen this information in a flier on Saturday.
Our first home game of the season is on Saturday March 19. For those new to the club, we hold our home games at the Atherton ground. On our Home Game days, our club is responsible for every aspect of the competition. We have to set up the fields, run the canteen, ensure the games all go ahead, and clean up and pack away at the end of the day.
Some of you have already volunteered to help with some of those jobs-Thanks very much and we will be in touch with you individually as well. We especially still need to see names of parents willing and able to help out in the canteen. If we have enough names, then most will only have to help out for a half hour or so.
Please respond to this email with your preferences of roles, and for the canteen, a time slot that suits you.
Field set up: Saturday morning (For the first game, we will all meet at 9.30 Saturday at the clubhouse)
Canteen: Set up from 10am. Half-hour slots from 11 to 4pm. Clean up starts during the last game of the day.
Field pack up: During and after the last game.
Anyone available to help run lines, and even to referee, please let us know.
Our first Home Game of the season is a great opportunity for new members to learn the ropes of these different roles from the more experienced, to find where all the equipment lives, and what is expected of us. Believe me, it really is simple, and if enough of us get involved its fun too!
Those unable to help out next week: Don’t worry! There will be plenty of opportunities at later Home Games.
