Meet & Greet – 7th May at Jack May Park
Hello to all players, families, coaches, managers and supporters at Malanda Football Club.
With the season well underway it’s great to see the teams all playing well and enjoying training and game days.
There are plenty of new families who have joined the club this year and I am sure many of you are still not 100% sure who is who around the club and possibly you are wondering who to come to with your questions and suggestions.
To help put faces to names and just to touch base, I would like to invite all parents to a brief get-together at the end of training next Thursday 7 May. It will be a chance for all of you to catch up with your child’s coaches, managers and the other committee members who will be there. If you have any questions about the schedule, or our approach to training, or just how the offside rule really works, this will be a good opportunity to ask.
Perhaps some of you are feeling ready to take on a role around home game days or organizing teams: next Thursday will be a great chance for you to make contact with us to let us know of your interest.
I look forward to seeing you all on May 7th. Good luck this Game Day.
Home Game this Weekend
We are requesting teams to help in the canteen 1/2 hour before and/or 1/2 hour after their game this Saturday or stay as long as you like! Simply rollup to the canteen and assist where you can.
The field line marking and setup will be this Friday around 3:30-5:pm at the Atherton International Club.
On Saturday please come down to the fields in Atherton to lend a hand from 10:00am.
On game day please help by picking up rubbish throughout the day to keep the fields tidy. As there is Quad series on this Sunday please leave nets in place if yours is the last game of the day (the exception is U5/6 & U8/9 fields – these can be packed up on Saturday and brought back to the canteen area lockup)
Training update for Wasps U8/9
The Wasps U8/9 team will commence training on Tuesdays and Thursdays from this week. All team members are welcome to attend one or both days from 3:30-4:30pm.
Contact details update
Current contact details for players are being sent out to coaches and managers. Please let us know if these need to be updated.
If your child is unable to attend game day ensure that you contact your coach or team manager. If you are having trouble getting your child to a game talk to the coach or manager as it may be possible to arrange a lift on the day. In the upcoming weeks we will be travelling and it is essential as a club and for the Tableland competition that players attend on away games.
As the season is well underway ALL players must finalise registrations and payments for the season. NO PAY = NO PLAY
Registration instructions for MyFootball are on the TJSA website.
Contact Lou Gobius for uniforms purchases – send email request to firstname.lastname@example.org so that arrangements can be made to bring items to game days or training throughout the season.
Running Lines on Game Days
Now that the draw is available for the year you will be able to see when it is the Malanda home game days. The club is responsible for providing referees and linesman on the day for all U12 & U14 games and where possible for the U10/11 games as well. If you as a parent or your child as a player is interested in being involved in another aspect of the game then please let us know. Register your interest at email@example.com
Malanda Guardian Pharmacy’s Points for the Community Campaign
Malanda Guardian has very kindly set our club up as one of the community groups eligible to accumulate points in their new ‘Points For The Community’ campaign. For every dollar you spend in store one point is rewarded. For every 250 points we are then eligible for a $5 voucher. Vouchers could be used to buy sunscreen, first aid kit items, purchase prizes for a raffle or anything we would like really.
So, each time you shop at the Pharmacy, if you don’t want points for yourself, please ask a staff member for points to be added to the Malanda Football Club card.
